Samus is back yet again, preparing to make her appearance on her 5th console. Starting on the NES, then to the GameBoy, and most recently to SNES. The next generation of console gaming has arrived, and with it comes two brand new Metroid titles to be released simultaneously. Metroid Prime and Metroid Fusion have already experienced great success at E3 and are nearly ready to be released to the public (err, well...only half a year).
The history of the Metroid series is a long one, which started on the NES. To read a brief summation of all the Metroid events from the past three games, check out our Metroid Prime Media Page. Metroid Fusion continues the story as Samus is on her way to Planet SR388, with an exploration team, when suddenly, her ship is attacked by an unknown alien life form. On the brink of death, after being mortally wounded, Samus loses consciousness. The mysterious life form infiltrates her ship and begins to cover her body, gnawing on it.
The creature "X" is said to be some sort of parasitic creature. However, the game's title, Metroid Fusion, suggests that Samus and creature "X" form some sort of symbiotic relationship. This alters the Samus' appearance changing her body armour from the classic orange to a translucent blue colour.
