Nintendo's answer to wireless control. The WaveBird controller will allow gamers to play their games 10 meters away from their GameCube without any problems. The WaveBird controller uses a radio frequency connection to send a very strong signal to the system. Each controller can be set to one of sixteen different channel frequencies to ensure that there is no interference during multiplayer gaming. The controller is roughly the same size as the standard GameCube controller except the lower end is slightly extended to accommodate two AA batteries that are required for the controller's operation. Unfortunately, this WaveBird controller does not have any rumble capabilities. Besides that fact, if this controller is everything that Nintendo says it is, this controller will set a new standard in video game control. The WaveBird will be released June 10th, 2002.
