| Since Sonic's debut in 1991, he was an instant hit. Seeing his success, SEGA quickly made the blue rodent their mascot. Since then Sonic has seen 2 sequels on Genesis, followed by Sonic and Knuckles which allowed the use of Knuckles in your old Sonic games (1,2, and 3).
Since then, there have been numerous sonic games, from pinball games to a police car game. Sonic even stared in his own TV show, which ran more than 65 episodes. Sonic 2 included a special mode, which was quite unique for its time, showing off great 3D sprites of both Sonic and Tails.
Continuing this trend, there have been many more games that saw the lightning fast critter in three dimensions. The most popular, of course, were Sonic Adventure, and Sonic Adventure 2, for SEGA Dreamcast. But alas, the days of SEGA consoles are over. Now SEGA, and Sonic Team, have re-released, Sonic Adventure 2 with enhanced graphics and a cool two player Battle mode. Hence the name, Sonic Adventure 2: Battle.
