We now have over 50,000 recorded hits since our launch!

The Nintendo Index has reached a landmark. We now have over 50,000 recorded hits since our launch! To mark this momentus occassion, we decided to add something new to the Ndex experience. We took a look at the situation, and found that our site needed some humour to lighten the mood. Ndex Comics will now be made to invoke laughter in our fellow Nintendo fans. The Nintendo Ndex Comics were inspired by the many Nintendo-Mario related jokes in the SNES game: Super Mario RPG. The new comics will poke fun at Nintendo, and are designed to be just plain funny. Here is a link to our first ever Ndex Comic:

We weren't updating enough? That's because a lot was going on behind the scenes. A new site design.

The Nintendo Index has gone through a mini site redesign. The staff here thought that we had a solid navigation system. That has not changed. What has changed are the site layout images and background colours. All of the solid coloured backgrounds have changed to "grid" like backgrounds.

Notice to frequent users: If you find that this site looks a little unusual. It is because your web browser is still using files stored in your system cache. Delete all your temporary Internet files and clear you Internet history. That should solve the problem.

Other noticeable changes:

  • Splash page - Regular site visitors may not see this page often. Xander has worked hard to create a new flash animation. It looks quite good.
  • Links page - Some links have been added and some have been removed.
  • Affiliates page - A couple of new affiliates have been added to this list.
  • Reviews page - There is now a description of how hardware reviews are written.
  • Parakarry's Mailbag - We here want to get a mailbag section started so that we can answer all your Nintendo related concerns. Send us questions/comments right now and they just might be placed in the first mailbag addition. Send all questions/comments to mail@ndex.simgames.net or use the mailbag submission form.
Site additions in the recent future:
  • Message Board - This site will soon have message boards.
  • Site Help - More information will be added to the site help page in the future.
  • Site Search - Soon you will beable to search this site to find anything you desire.

Final navigation correction.

The new navigation feature (the channel option) has been upgraded for the last time. Instead of setting the channel, then linking to it, you can now just set it and link at the same time, this will save you some mouse clicking.

Special thanks to Xander for the final version of this navigation feature.

A new navigation bar feature!

As you may have seen, located at the bottom of the navigation bar is the new "Channel" feature. We feel that the Ndex navigation bar is kind of big and contains information that not everyone needs. For example, you may only come to the Ndex for GameCube content, and not use any of the other links. With this new feature, you can chose the GameCube channel when you arrive so that the only links pertaining to GameCube will be in the navigation bar. Using the drop down menu, select the channel that you desire, and press Go. This channel can then be switched back at any time. This feature was designed to simplify the navigation bar, and make it easier for you to use. However, using the back button may proove difficult. Use the back button drop down menu in your browser (if you have one) to go back. This should be fixed later on. Until then, Enjoy.

Special thanks to Xander for writing the JavaScript that allows this feature to work.
