Eternal Darkness has been dubbed a "psychological thriller". You play as one of the many characters, each from different time periods spanning over a thousand years. Unique to this game will be the so-called, "Sanity Meter." This will gage you're the sanity of your character. If you run in terror from enemies because you have no ammo, your sanity level lowers. If it drops too low you die.

Featured in this game are full-motion cut-scenes, facial expressions, and as many as 20 enemies on screen at once. Through the different time period you will get a chance to wield many different weapons ranging from swords to guns to awesome spells. Blood, Gore and Violence are all included, hence the Mature rating.

This Nintendo published game is said to be like resident evil, and will fit in with the survival horror type of game play.
